Size does matter when choosing the right scooter for your height. You can ride a scooter of any size, but it won't be easy, comfortable or fun. We have put together the information to consider before choosing your perfect scooter.

Scooter Bar Height

As a general rule the height of the scooter bars or handlebars should be around waist height when standing on the deck flat footed. Choosing a bar height that is taller than your waist will make the scooter harder to ride.

Just be careful as bar height measurements are the bar only and don't take into consideration the rest of the scooter i.e. wheel size and head tube length. So add an extra 180mm (7 inches) to the height to give a better picture of how high they will stand from the deck.

Scooter Bar Width

The width of your scooter bars should be around the width of your shoulders. For example if your shoulder width is 18 inches you won't want to ride with 12 inch bars, they will look and feel way too small. You can have bars 1 inch wider or narrower than your shoulders and they will feel ok.

Deck Length and Width

The deck should comfortably fit the riders foot or shoe. Usually the larger the rider then the longer and wider the deck needs to be for comfortable foot placement for riding and tricks. See the chart below for a better idea of sizing.
